MISHA

Misha was raised in Toronto, Canada and quickly developed a love affair with art and travel. She has always been a non-conformist and possesses a unique perception of her place in the World. She is an avid traveller and previously resided in Barcelona, Spain - a city that offered her great inspiration.

Misha was fascinated by Peter Beard’s unique portrayal of Africa through photography and collage work. It was after seeing his landmark installation in New York, that included photographs, elephant carcasses and burned diaries, that she decided to study photography.  She graduated from the Image Arts program at Ryerson University, which has a proven record of producing award-winning photographers whose works are published and exhibited internationally.

Misha’s photographs were published in “Portfolio Three,” she was the grand prize winner of Whisky in Focus photo competition, her photo essay was published in “Exploits” essays on approach, her photo was selected for SNAP! The Aids committee of Toronto’s annual photographic fundraiser and she has had numerous exhibitions in both Canada and Spain. Her current work has evolved from traditional fine art photography into a fusion of photography and painting. These original pieces are highly textured and abstracted realities.
